South Africa Day 4
Day 4 finds us heading out of the trust property again and into the local town of Hoedspruit, eating at a restaurant where a 3,000 year old baobab tree had just fallen earlier this year and then on to experience Jessica the hippo. In a flood 12 years ago, the hours-old hippo washed up on a rangers land. He nursed her through infancy and now she lives with him as family. She still roams wild in the river, but always comes back "home". She's so tame that she can be fed by hand and even kissed. She's a beautiful creature.
